Want to know more about being a follower of Jesus Christ?

What does it mean?

What does Jesus require of us?

What can I do to be saved from my sins and death?

In order to know the good news of Jesus Christ (the gospel), we must first know the bad news of ourselves. We are morally and spiritually bankrupt; all of us. No matter our background, ethnicity, language, or intelligence. No matter how kind and generous we are, nor how cruel and wicked, all of our efforts of good works are like dirty rags to a magnificent and holy God (Romans 3:10). It is the fact of how magnificent He is that highlights how horrible even the "smallest" of disobedience to Him (sin) is. We have nothing good to our account because we are hopelessly lost to our own sin and sinful choices. Lying, stealing, cheating, betraying, killing, blaspheming, hurting others in our anger, slandering; if we have done one of these things, we are guilty of them all, and we have all done more than one (Romans 3:23). Once we realize this truth about ourselves, we can clearly see our need for someone to save us from it, for we can't, and that One is Jesus. He, being fully man and fully God, came among us. He lived a sinless life, died, and rose to life again, so that we may be saved from our hopelessness. He defeated sin and death, providing life and fullness to those who choose to follow Him, and if we repent (turn from and stop) of our sins and call upon Him to save us, He will do so, and we shall pass from death unto life. (Romans 10:12-13)
